VR Chat
VR Chat is a social platform in VR (but can also be used without a headset!). It’s good for panel discussions, presentations, speeches, product launches and many other corporate activities.

Roblox has more active users than all other metaverse platforms combined. A brand activation project in Roblox a can have a massive impact especially if younger demographics is important to your brands future success.
Roblox at a glance:
- Roblox has 60m daily active users and the userbase is growing at around 30% per year
- Roblox has over 200m monthly active users. To put that into perspective, Fortnite has 80m monthly users and the entire Steam platform has c. 120m active monthly users.
- For every active user on VR Chat there are 2000 on Roblox.

Metaverse Platforms
There are many new metaverse platforms that are based on blockchain technology. This usually means you need to buy a parcel of land before you can publish your custom 3D assets into the platform. So far their userbase is limited so a project on one of these platforms is more speculative.
Decentraland was launched in 2017 and has seen brands such as Samsung, Adidas, Atari, PWC and Miller Lite launch brand activations on the platform. It's a browser based 3D world which is linked to the user's crypto wallet so it's designed to facilitate ecommerce and NFTs. It's easy to access for the user but the experience can suffer with graphics and reliability issues. It's gaining credibility, recently hosting fashion week. The Sandbox is a community-driven platform where creators can create and monetize gaming experiences on the blockchain. This platform has less users than Decentraland but is growing rapidly. You can buy parcels of land to develop on Open Sea.
Other platforms
If your use case is a conference, expo or an event then you probably don't need NFTs or a blockchain.
Mozilla Hubs is an open source browser based meeting tool. You can host it on your own server (or AWS) and since it is fully extensible. If you are interested in building your own platform with a unique feature set you can base it on Mozilla Hubs. Get in touch to discuss your requirements further.
Virbela is a proprietary 3D platform for conferences that runs on PC and PC VR. It offers a private virtual conference platform but there are more cost effective solutions.
